Looks like we’ll be getting a little rain from Gustav!
Looks like there is about 10 times the normal amount of traffic on I55 North about 20 miles south of Memphis. Just got back in from lake patrol and thought I’d run by Wal-Mart for some last minute items. The interstate is packed, but moving along at a decent pace – about even or 5 under the speed limit.
I’ll be in a convoy headed south first thing in the morning. Of course, pictures to come of that, too!
I got to the lake today about 2:00 pm. I wasn’t scheduled to be there, but I wanted to stop by and see what was going on. Everything was running silky smooth and the officer in charge said they were about to call it an early day as the equipment was running low on fuel. Refueling would have taken enough time that by the time they arrived back at the lake the patrol would be over.
I spent the rest of the afternoon monitoring Gustav. A fantastic and very interactive site to monitor the progress of the storm is www.stormpulse.com
I should be on the lake tomorrow at 8:00 am until 1:00 pm. It’ll be a nice lazy day so I’ll be sure to update the blog from the lake with some pretty pictures
Just testing out the ability to update while on the road.
