I stumbled across a webapp yesterday called “Decisions For Heroes” and decided to give it a run down since I’m the IT guy for our unit.

From what I can tell so far – this app is amazing! For one, it was developed by someone who is a rescue volunteer so he knows exactly what is needed. So many times I see custom apps built for people that just don’t work because the coder has no clue how things need to be done. I grabbed all of our sign in logs and I’m slowly working the data in. We’ve got some sheets missing so our data won’t be complete, but it will be a good estimation.

Hopefully it will be ready for our members before long (as long as the Command Staff give it the OK)

I listen to several podcasts during the week on my commute back and forth to work. I like listening to them, but for the life of me I can never remember anything about them. Prime example: I was listening to “The Skeptics Guide to the Universe this morning and I thought something they were talking about would make a great blog post. It’s now lunch time and I still don’t remember what it was.

I’m going to change the direction of the site and instead of just posting random photos or blurbs, I’m actually – GASP – going to keep everything updated with content on a regular basis.

Today’s content? I wish you hadn’t asked. I don’t really have anything set aside for content. I’ll have to just make it up as I go.

I’m glad to see “Lost” back with new episodes. Some people love it while others hate it. It really says something when a TV show needs a Wiki for each episode just so you can keep up with all the details. I’m a fan because I like the intellectual stimulus it provides even though some of it is just plain silly. I like being made to think.

I happened to stumble across a client for the iPhone which will let me update the site from it. Just testing things out with it

Apparently Gary Busey is getting a lot of attention lately. His batshit insane videos that are on Youtube have always had me in stitches. Now there’s a mega-Photoshop thread based on him over at SomethingAwful
